Accordingly, on the journey from Krabi (Thailand) to Malaysia, the Gumball 3000 group stopped to refuel in Pran Buri district, Prachuap Khiri Khan province, central Thailand.
However, after filling up the gas station, the gas station employee reported to the authorities that someone used counterfeit money to pay.
Accordingly, the two members tried to pay by credit card but failed. After that, they took out 3 $50 bills and 2 $10 bills to pay for gas.
The gas station owner brought two $50 bills to exchange and discovered they were counterfeit, so he reported it to the authorities. The organizer of the Gumball 3000 2024 supercar group later learned about it and cooperated in handling the incident. The Gumball 3000 group representative is willing to compensate and hopes that the gas station owner will withdraw the complaint.
However, Thai authorities said they are still conducting an investigation.
Photos shared by the gas station show that the two vehicles involved in the incident were an old Porsche 911 GT3 and a black car, but it is unclear what brand it belongs to.
This incident caused the Gumball convoy to be delayed and could only arrive in Malaysia last night (September 20). It is likely that the convoy will shorten its stay in Malaysia to be able to travel to Singapore on September 21 as originally planned.
