Recently, Honda revealed that the new HR-V model for the North American market will have a larger width and wheelbase than the global HR-V. In addition to the changed size, the North American HR-V will also have an independent rear suspension instead of the torque bar as on the previous generation model.
The car has a different design compared to the current Honda product range. At the front of the vehicle is a large rectangular grille, a pair of LED headlights are squeezed thinly with an L-shaped daytime running running light strip, a large air intake with a black plastic-shaped edge. All of this creates a strong and sporty look for the car.
Entering the body, the highlight on the North American HR-V is the delicate raised edge from the headlight cluster in the front to the rear bumper. The rearview mirror on the CUV model has also been moved from the A-pillar to the door body like on the Civic model, helping to increase visibility for the driver. The increase in size is most clearly shown through the longer hood and the appearance of glasses in the rear ear of the car.
The highlight on the rear of the North American HR-V is the reverse L-shaped taillights and a large black plastic case on the rear bumper. Honda has not revealed the interior photos of the model, but it is suggested that the model will have a similar interior to the Civic.
Honda also kept the vehicle's specifications confidential. However, because it was developed based on the Civic, it is likely that the HR-V will also have 2 engine options: 2.0L naturally aspirated and 1.5 liters turbocharged. A HR-V hybrid e:HEV version may also appear.
Although this HR-V is only sold in the North American market, many speculate that the model will soon be launched on the global market, of course under a different name.
