Despite Toyota's declining sales, the Camry remains a popular model in the US. In September, Camry sales reached 22,934 units, up 1.7% compared to the same period in 2023. In the first 9 months of the year, the model had a total of 227,576 sales, up 4.4% compared to the same period last year. On average, Toyota sold about 833 Camrys per day.
However, in Vietnam, in the whole year of 2023, Toyota only sold a total of 2,429 Camrys, an average of about 6.6 units per day. After the first 8 months of 2024, Camry sold 854 units, just slightly more than 1 day's sales in the US.
However, Camry's business results in the US still cannot be compared to the sales champions in the first 9 months of the year such as Ford F-series with 550,835 vehicles or Chevrolet Silverado with 407,144 vehicles.
In the first half of 2024, Camry also appeared in the top 10 best-selling cars in the US. This model ranked 6th, just behind SUVs and pickups.
In addition, the company's Corolla model also saw sales increase by 6.9%, reaching 177,092 units by the end of September (about 648.6 units sold per day). In addition to the sedan versions, the Corolla also has a hatchback version and a high-performance GR version.
The RAV4 model also sold 350,331 units in the first nine months of the year, a sharp increase of 15.7% compared to the same period in 2023. On average, the company sold 1,283 RAV4s per day.
In 2023, Toyota maintained its position as the world's largest automaker for the fourth consecutive year with sales of over 9.4 million vehicles. The Lexus luxury car line also grew significantly with sales of 824,258 vehicles in 2023.
