Mazda MX-5 Miata is not a popular car line in Vietnam. The number of cars still in their original state is relatively limited, causing buyers to spend a lot of time searching, even accepting to travel far to access the right car that suits their needs and interests.
Mazda MX-5 is a light roadster developed by Mazda, also known as Mazda Roadster or Eunos Roadster in some markets. In the US and previously in Canada, cars were sold under the name Miata - a word originating from the ancient German language, meaning "reward".
This model was produced at the Hiroshima factory and first launched in 1989 at the Chicago Auto Show. The Mazda MX-5 is developed based on the design philosophy Jinba Ittai, emphasizing the harmony between the driver and the car, towards a direct and flexible control feel.
In terms of design, the MX-5 stands out with its compact size, light weight and balanced layout. In the early generations, the car was equipped with flashing headlights - details that made its own mark and have appeared in many films. The overall design of the MX-5 is often considered a spiritual inheritance of European convertible models in the 1950s-1960s, with the Lotus Elan as a reference model.
During development, the Mazda MX-5 has gone through four main generations including NA, NB, NC and ND. The NA generation debuted in 1989, followed by NB in 1998, NC in 2005 and ND in 2015. Through each generation, the car model has been upgraded in technology and safety but still maintains the core philosophy of minimalist and focusing on driving experience.
