Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 33/2024/QD-UBND on standards and norms for car use for agencies and units under the management of Dong Thap province.
Accordingly, this Decision stipulates standards, usage norms and management forms of automobiles (except specialized automobiles in the medical field) under the management of Dong Thap province.
The subjects of application are state agencies, agencies of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the provincial level, socio-political organizations at the provincial level; public service units, project management boards using state capital under the Provincial People's Committee (hereinafter referred to as agencies, organizations, units).
Standards and norms for car use are as follows:
Cars for work positions:
The positions equipped with cars according to the provisions of Decree No. 72/2023/ND-CP of the Government include: Member of the Central Party Executive Committee, Provincial Party Secretary, Deputy Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.
In addition, Dong Thap has set standards for cars for general work and specialized cars. According to the above regulations, each district in Dong Thap is allowed up to 17 cars, including 4 cars for general work and 13 specialized cars. Cao Lanh city (Gao Giong Melaleuca Forest Management Board) is allowed an additional car for fire prevention and fighting.
Decision of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee informs that the number of specialized vehicles equipped for provincial agencies and units is: 41 vehicles.
The number of specialized vehicles equipped for district-level agencies and units is: maximum 13 vehicles/district. For districts, towns and cities that provide socialized garbage collection and transportation services, garbage compactors are not equipped.

The form of management of cars for general work is as follows:
Provincial level
Assign each agency, organization, or unit to directly manage and use cars for general work. For agencies, organizations, or units with affiliated or subordinate units, the Head of the unit shall decide on the centralized management method or the direct management method or a combination of both methods as appropriate.
District level
The People's Committee at district level decides on the centralized management method or the direct management method to suit the actual situation of the locality.
The Provincial People's Committee assigns the Chief of the Provincial People's Committee Office; Heads of provincial-level departments, branches and sectors; Heads of provincial-level public service units; Chairmen of district and city People's Committees; and relevant organizations and individuals to be responsible for implementing this Decision.
