Many provinces impose remote fines for illegal stopping and parking violations

The Traffic Police Department, Bac Ninh Provincial Police said that from May 23 to May 29, through exploiting the surveillance camera system and using professional equipment, the traffic police force recorded many cases of violations of illegal parking being fined by camera. The list is as follows:

Hung Yen traffic police also said that from May 25 - May 31, the police recorded many cases of motorbike owners violating and being fined for improper parking. The list is as follows:

People should note the penalty level for drivers stopping and parking in violation of regulations according to Decree 168/2024/ND-CP as follows:

Not turning on the signal when entering/leaving a stopping/parking position: Fine 400,000 - 600,000 VND. If causing a traffic accident, fine 20,000 - 22,000,000 VND and deduct 10 GPLX points.

Stopping/parking basically in violation of regulations (not in the right place, not close to the curb, in the opposite direction, on the median strip, on the slope without wheels, on the bus route, at the sewer mouth, blocking signs...): Fine 600,000 – 800,000 VND.

Stopping/parking in the railway intersection area: Fine 800,000 - 1,000,000 VND.

Stopping/parking at prohibited or obstructing locations (intersections, pick-up points, in front of office gates, narrow roads, no-parking...): Fine 800,000 - 1,000,000 VND.

Stopping/parking in particularly dangerous locations (left side of one-way/double-way, curved road, top of slope, on bridges/under overpasses, parallel to other vehicles): Fine 2,000,000 - 3,000,000 VND and deduct 02 GPLX points.

Stopping/parking in a road tunnel in violation of regulations or not signaling when encountering an incident: Fine 2,000,000 - 3,000,000 VND and deduct 02 GPLX points.

Stopping/parking in violation of regulations causing traffic congestion: Fine 4,000,000 - 6,000,000 VND and deduct 02 GPLX points.

Serious violations on highways (parking/parking in the wrong place, not signaling when encountering problems): Fine 12,000,000 - 14,000,000 VND and deduct 6 GPLX points.

Stopping/parking in violation of regulations causing traffic accidents: Fine 20,000,000 - 22,000,000 VND and deduct 10 points from the driver's license

To pay remote fines, people can go to the police station where remote fines are detected or to the police station where they reside to resolve violations according to regulations.

However, according to the new recommendation of the Traffic Police Department, people should go to the headquarters of the Traffic Police Department where they have permanent residence to handle violations, and should not go to the location where violations are detected in other localities to handle them, which is both overloading for functional forces and requires long travel.

The police also recommend that driving at the correct speed is not only about complying with the law, but also about responsibility to oneself, family and community.
