Many cars running red lights were fined in Thai Binh and Bac Giang

According to the list recently announced by the police of Thai Binh and Bac Giang provinces, many vehicles running red lights were fined.

From December 25, 2024 to December 31, 2024, the Traffic Police Department - Thai Binh Provincial Police informed that it had recorded 68 cases of vehicles violating the Road Traffic Law and were fined.

Through the surveillance camera system, the police discovered 16 vehicles violating red lights including:

Bac Giang City Police also announced that from December 23 to 31, 2024, through the traffic surveillance camera system, the unit detected 154 cases of traffic safety violations (of which 79 cases involved cars and motorbikes running red lights) as follows:

According to regulations before January 1, 2025, the administrative penalty for red light violations by cars will apply the provisions of Decree No. 100/2019/ND-CP (amended and supplemented by Decree 123/2021/ND-CP).

Accordingly, drivers who run red lights will be fined from 4,000,000 to 6,000,000 VND. In addition to the fine, the driver who commits the violation will also be subject to an additional penalty of having his/her driving license revoked for 1 to 3 months. In case of failure to comply with traffic lights and causing an accident, the driver's license will be revoked for 2 to 4 months.

Motorbike drivers (including electric motorbikes) who run red or yellow lights will be fined from 800,000 to 1,000,000 VND and have their driving license revoked for 1-3 months.

According to Decree No. 168/2024/ND-CP, effective from January 1, 2025, drivers of cars, four-wheeled motor vehicles or similar vehicles who do not comply with traffic light signals will be fined from VND 18-20 million. Those who commit this act will have their driving license deducted 04 points.

Motorcyclists or similar vehicles who violate the law will be fined from 4 to 6 million VND. Those who commit this act will have their driving license deducted 04 points.

People should note that when coming to pay the fine, they need to prepare the following documents:

For cars: Vehicle registration, Certificate of technical safety and environmental protection inspection, Driving license of the violator, Citizen identification card of the violator (photocopy 01 copy of each type of document).

For motorbikes: Vehicle registration, Driving license of the violator, Citizen identification card of the violator (photocopy 01 copy of each document).
