In the Porsche 911 generation 992 product range being distributed in the Vietnamese market, Turbo S is considered the most high-end version, possessing a selling price and specifications close to the supercar group. This model is often put on the scale compared to names such as Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4, Ferrari 488 GTB or Audi R8.
The Porsche 911 Turbo S 992 was first introduced in March 2020, equipped with a 3.7-liter 6-cylinder twin-turboboxer engine. This engine block produces a maximum power of 478 kW (equivalent to 650 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 800 Nm. The engine is developed based on the 3.0-liter engine of the Carrera line, with a shorter piston stroke and a compression ratio reduced to 8.7:1 compared to the previous generation.
In terms of performance, the Porsche 911 Turbo S can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds (2.8 seconds for the convertible version), reaching 200 km/h after 8 seconds and a top speed of up to 330 km/h. The turbocharging system and air intakes are designed larger, with the intake doors placed behind the engine instead of at the rear wheel vents like previous generations.
Standard equipment on the car includes a Porsche dynamic chassis control system (PDCC), rear-wheel drive system and composite ceramic brakes. In addition, Porsche also offers two new factory options: active suspension and sporty exhaust.
In aerodynamic design, the front of the car is supplemented with adaptive radiators, while the rear spoiler is larger, helping to increase the pressure on the road surface by about 15%. In a Sport Auto test in January 2021, the Porsche 911 Turbo S 992 completed a Nurburgring Nordschleife lap in 7 minutes 17.3 seconds, becoming the fastest commercial car on this race track without using semi-smooth tires.
