On the morning of September 26, in the auction that took place at 10am, the super VIP license plate for a car with Hanoi region code 30K-999.99 was paid the highest price by a customer at 22.370 billion VND.
Notably, this is the license plate that a customer bid for in January at VND75.275 billion (a record price since the license plate auction began in August 2023). However, the winning bidder later withdrew the deposit.
In April 2024, when returning to the market, the 30K-999.99 license plate continued to be auctioned at 30.65 billion VND and then the deposit was abandoned again.
According to the representative of the Traffic Police Department, up to now, the auction of car license plates has gone through more than 220 days. The total number of plates put up for auction is over 1.26 million and the number of successfully auctioned plates is over 35,500.
The total value of the successfully auctioned assets is over 3,280 billion VND. The total amount that the auction winner paid is 3,026 billion VND.
In addition to the license plate 30K-999.99 that was bid for this morning, many other license plates were bid for high prices such as: 51K-888.88 (15.265 billion VND); 30K-555.55 (14.495 billion VND); 11A-111.11 (8.780 billion VND); 72A-777.77 (6.850 billion VND); 88A-666.66 (6.705 billion VND); 36A-999.99 (5.285 billion VND)...
Since September 5, relevant units have implemented a plan to auction an additional 388,389 car license plates for the fifth auction. This list of license plates includes all 63 provinces and cities. Of which, Hanoi has more than 56,000 license plates, and Ho Chi Minh City has nearly 54,000 car license plates.
According to current regulations, the starting price of each license plate is 40 million VND, with price steps of 5 million VND.
