This is a wagon variant that is very limited in quantity in Vietnam, especially for vehicles that are still capable of operating and maintaining their original condition.
The mentioned car has a white exterior, overall still quite original after many years of use. The characteristic extended rear design of the wagon line creates a different appearance compared to the familiar sedan versions of the Corona Mark II line.
The Toyota Corona Mark II line was first launched in the Japanese market in September 1968, distributed through the Toyopet Store dealer system. This model is positioned between Corona and Crown, targeting customers who need a mid-size sedan with higher equipment than Corona but have not reached the high-end segment like the Crown.
At the time of launch, the Corona Mark II held the third position in Toyota's sedan product range, ranking below the Toyota Crown and the high-end Toyota Century limousine. The car's direct competitor in the Japanese domestic market is Nissan Laurel.
The early versions of the Corona Mark II were quite diverse, including a four-door sedan (code T60), a two-door coupe (T70) and a wagon. The car was equipped with many different engine options each year, mainly 4-cylinder gasoline engines with capacities from 1.5L to 2.0L such as the 7R, 6R, 8R and 18R lines. Notably, versions using engines under 2.0L were optimized to comply with road tax regulations in Japan at that time.
In addition to civilian variants, the Corona Mark II also has a two-door pickup version for commercial purposes, and even has a dual cabin configuration with rear seats for passengers.
The appearance of the wagon version in Vietnam is currently considered rare, especially in the context that this car line mainly exists in the form of sedans. Cars that still maintain good and original operating conditions as in the above case are even more valuable for collecting for domestic classic car enthusiasts.
