Toyota has revealed new looks for its SUVs at the SEMA show. The Land Cruiser ROX Concept is a pickup version of the new SUV with custom accessories. Meanwhile, the 4Runner TRD Surf Concept 2-door has a beachy style inspired by the 1980s.
The Land Cruiser ROX is a product of the Calty Design Research studio (Toyota). This design team pursues a liberal style for the brand's new off-road models, helping users to blend into the surrounding environment.
The designers modified the C-pillar, removed the D-pillar, and removed the roof. To avoid collapse under pressure, the team built a custom frame, which compensated for the lack of rigidity compared to the original. The roof was designed as a panoramic sunroof, while the doors were reduced to half size and had no glass. The wheel arches were widened, and the rims were designed larger with off-road tires.
The Land Cruiser pickup is also equipped with special accessories such as: front and rear bumpers made of steel; tailgate with spare tire holder... Toyota also informed that more than half of the car has been replaced with new parts.
The other Toyota pickup truck brought to SEMA this year is the 2025 4Runner TRD Limited. This version transforms the ladder-frame SUV into a 2-door convertible off-roader, inspired by the original 4Runner and Hilux Surf.
To match the camper style, this SUV also has its roof and D-pillar removed and replaced with a removable hardtop. The roof is customized to carry surfboards, along with a roll bar to protect the safety of rear passengers.
The rear doors have been removed, allowing for flip-up front seats for easy access to the rear seats. The 4Runner also features wide fender flares with a TRD front bumper and a vented hood. The interior is finished in blue, with blue accents and faux wood-look waterproof flooring.
The company also hinted at mass production of the Land Cruiser pickup, depending on public reception at the SEMA show.
