The contest is a prominent activity of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2024) and major national holidays.
The “Green Bank for Green Life” contest is a major professional competition, organized for the first time across the industry to spread the image of the sustainable development of the banking industry, pioneering the strong implementation of activities for the community in general, towards building a sustainable green future in particular.
Combining professional expertise and cultural activities and movements in the whole industry, the Competition is both professional and technical in nature and also serves as a platform for exchange and sharing of experiences between union members and workers in the banking industry.
This is also a playground for the teams to shine their talents, increase awareness and understanding of officials, civil servants, public employees and workers about the role of green banking in promoting sustainable development and environmental protection; at the same time, arouse pride, create motivation for officials, civil servants and workers in the banking industry to enhance their sense of responsibility and make efforts to contribute to the sustainable development of Vietnamese banks and the country.
The Vietnam Banking Trade Union entrusted the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development (BIDV) Trade Union - a unit with rich professional experience and organizing competitions and movements related to the green banking sector - to be the implementing unit.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Permanent Deputy Governor of the State Bank, Chairman of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union Dao Minh Tu said that in order to continue raising awareness and social responsibility of the banking system in protecting the environment and responding to climate change, especially through making professional content the theme of trade union activities, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union organized the contest "Green Bank for Green Life."
"This is not only an innovation in union activities but also an opportunity for all officers and employees in the industry to raise awareness and share knowledge about green credit and green banking - important trends in sustainable development. Thereby, each officer and union member will be more aware of their role and responsibility in contributing to building a safe and stable development environment" - Mr. Dao Minh Tu emphasized.
The contest brings together 22 teams with 440 contestants from banks and units across the industry, who will participate in 3 rounds: Team introduction, Learning about green banking knowledge and Debate.
The special prize of the contest is worth 100,000,000 VND, a Certificate of Merit from the Governor of the State Bank and a Cup... The contest takes place from November 13-14, in Hanoi.
