The MPV market in Vietnam is becoming increasingly fierce due to the rise of small 7-seat models. The once-famous MPV model Toyota Innova could no longer maintain its appeal and had to give up to Mitsubishi Xpander and Suzuki XL7.
The situation forces Toyota Vietnam to launch a new product to improve sales in this segment. Toyota Veloz 2022 is the name chosen to replace Innova.
To increase competitiveness, the Toyota Veloz 2022 is equipped with many safety technologies. The highlight of the model is the Toyota Safety sense safety technology package with features such as pre-collision warning, anti-collision, accelerator control, cross-traffic warning, lane keeping assist, 360-degree camera, blind spot warning... In addition, the Toyota Veloz 2022 has up to 6 airbags.
Other outstanding features on the 2022 Toyota Veloz include air conditioning, electronic handbrake, wireless phone charger, and a 9-inch entertainment screen that connects to Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto.
Many predict that the Toyota Veloz 2022 will use a 1.5L engine producing 105 horsepower and a maximum torque of 137 Nm, combined with a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT transmission, front-wheel drive.
According to sales consultants, the Toyota Veloz 2022 is likely to be distributed in 2 versions with prices ranging from 650 - 710 million VND. With the above price, Vietnamese customers can easily access the Toyota Veloz 2022 compared to the Toyota Innova. However, this price is not too easy when compared to competitor Mitsubishi Xpander (from 555 million VND).
Toyota has now started accepting Veloz 2022 deposits and is expected to launch the model in March.
