According to information from the Vietnam Register, the Lexus brand of Toyota Group is having a recall campaign for 26 Lexus NX cars manufactured from February 8, 2018 to May 16, 2018 due to fuel pump error. These 26 units were all imported and distributed by Toyota Vietnam in the domestic market.
The vehicles included in the recall are equipped with high-pressure pumps to supply fuel to direct injectors. However, during operation, the pump piston can create high stress at the control valves, causing weld cracks and fuel leaks.
This recall will take place at authorized Lexus Vietnam dealers until August 13, 2027. Defective vehicles will be inspected and the high-pressure fuel pump replaced free of charge, an estimated time of about 2.1 hours per vehicle.
In addition, Lexus is also implementing another recall involving 634 vehicles belonging to the ES 250, ES 300h, LS 500, LX 600, NX 350h, RX 350 and RX 500h models. All are produced at the factory in Japan from November 18, 2022 to August 8, 2023.
These 634 vehicles have problems with the front and rear cameras that may be damaged during vehicle use, causing images from the camera to not be displayed on the central screen and reducing the driver's visibility.
The reason is that the protective shell of these cameras can be exposed during use, allowing water to get inside, causing a short circuit, leading to an error of not being able to display surrounding images during vehicle use. Inspection and repair of each vehicle under this recall program lasts 3.7 hours.
Another brand that is also having a vehicle recall campaign in Vietnam is Porsche . According to information from the Vietnam Register, Porsche is implementing a recall program for 95 Porsche Taycan cars, of 8 different versions, to check and replace the brake fluid pipes on the front wheels of the car. All vehicles subject to recall are determined to be manufactured between March 19, 2020 - September 25, 2023.
