From parking lots, bus stops to electronics stores
One afternoon in the Vinhomes Grand Park area (Long Thanh My ward, Ho Chi Minh City), next to the outdoor parking lot of building S9 or GSM office area, battery exchange cabinets are placed neatly and easily recognizable. Electric motorbike riders only need a few minutes of operation to replace the full battery, continuing the journey.
Not only in new urban areas, XMĐ battery exchange cabinets are creeping into many other public spaces of the city. At No. 512 Nguyen Xien, Long Hoa neighborhood; or 365 Phan Van Hon, Dong Hung Thuan ward (HCMC), battery exchange points are arranged in parking lots, crowded residential areas, convenient for workers and surrounding residents.
In Hanoi, it is similar, the image of battery exchange cabinets is increasingly familiar on major roads. At Cho Mo bus station, No. 5 Minh Khai or the station opposite the Air Defense - Air Force Museum, No. 184 Truong Chinh, prominent colorful battery cabinets are placed close to public transport stops, serving both workers and students. Notably, many Mobile World stores in Hanoi have also become places to place battery exchange cabinets - where people can both shop and exchange batteries for cars.
According to V-Green, choosing locations such as charging stations combined with battery exchange cabinets, bus stops, gas stations, parking lots, schools, urban areas or retail chains is not accidental. These are all places with high traffic density, associated with daily living habits, helping electric vehicle users access battery exchange services most naturally.
Infrastructure "goes ahead", creating momentum for electric vehicles to change batteries
V-Green's completion of the first 4,500 battery exchange stations is considered an important starting point in the battery infrastructure coverage strategy nationwide. The target of 45,000 cabinets in the first quarter of 2026 shows strong investment speed, while reflecting confidence in the electric motorcycle trend, especially batteries that can be exchanged.
In fact, charging infrastructure is one of the issues consumers consider when switching to electric vehicles, especially for some users who have few conditions to charge at home. With the battery replacement model, this worry has been relieved. Quick battery replacement, no need to wait - these advantages are especially suitable for the crowded urban pace.
In that context, the fact that car manufacturers simultaneously invest in battery-changing car lines further clarifies the role of infrastructure. Recently, VinFast launched 3 new electric motorbike lines at the same time according to the battery-changing model, showing that the product development strategy closely linked to the battery cabinet network is being expanded. When vehicles and infrastructure go hand in hand, consumers will increasingly be confident in choosing electric vehicles.
Many users share that what makes them most reassured is not only the car price or operating costs, but also the feeling of "always having a battery near". When battery exchange cabinets appear in apartment parking lots, near bus stops or right at familiar electronics stores, electric vehicles are no longer a "special" means of transport, but become a complete replacement for gasoline cars.
If battery exchange cabinets are installed in many places, there is really nothing to worry about when riding electric vehicles anymore. Petrol trucks that cause environmental pollution will soon be replaced by electric vehicles. We technology drivers will have conditions to work with higher efficiency" - Mr. Nguyen Van Binh (Cau Giay, Hanoi) shared his expectations.
With XMĐ battery exchange cabinets increasingly covering Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and aiming for a national scale, the picture of transitioning to green transportation is gradually becoming clearer. Infrastructure goes one step ahead, businesses invest long-term, and people have more peace of mind when changing their travel habits. In that wave, battery exchange cabinets that seemed quietly on the roadside are playing a key role, contributing to promoting electric motorbikes to get closer to the daily life of Vietnamese cities.
