On April 13, social networks spread images of two different cars, a white Honda car, a red Mazda car-with control plate 37A-718.60. Both vehicles are said to park near each other in an area near a apartment in Vinh city, Nghe An province.
Immediately after being posted, the article quickly attracted thousands of shares and comments. Many social network users are surprised and even annoyed when witnessing two vehicles with the same number plate "meeting" in the middle of the street.
In particular, some suggested that the red car showed signs of using fake signs. According to the observation from the image, the font of the number "8" on the red car number is not identical with the standard typeface often found on car control plates issued by the authorities.
Public opinion asks: Which car is real, which car is fake? Who is the true owner of plate number 37A-718.60? Does the act of counterfeiting license plates, vehicle registration papers?
According to Article 16, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, operators of vehicles attached to control signs not issued by competent agencies will be administratively sanctioned from 4 to 6 million VND for individuals, and from 8 to 12 million VND for violating organizations.
In case of detecting signs of counterfeiting license plates, vehicle registration certificates or documents of state agencies, violators may be criminally handled under Article 341 of the 2015 Penal Code, with the highest fine of up to 7 years in prison.
The license plate is one of the important legal grounds to manage vehicles. The intentional use of coincidences and fake signs not only violates the law but also has many potential risks of traffic safety, evading legal obligations or committing other violations.
An officer of Nghe An Police Department of Traffic Police said that the unit will enter the verification of the case and handle it in accordance with the law.
