Recently, the social network community has spread the image of a Jaguar XJS appearing on a street in Hanoi. This is a car model produced more than 30 years ago. It is worth noting that information about this car has never appeared on media sites before.
This is the second Jaguar XJS to appear in Vietnam, after the first silver car. Jaguar XJS is a luxury car, produced from 1975 to 1996 with coupe and convertible versions. The total number of cars produced during 20 years and 7 months is 115,413 units.
The Jaguar XJS was originally based on the current XJ saloon, featuring distinctive rear pillars. The car’s original styling was designed by Malcolm Sayer, one of the first designers to apply advanced aerodynamic principles to cars. However, Sayer died in 1970, before the design was completed.
The final version of the Jaguar XJS, produced from 1991 to 1996, came after Jaguar was bought by Ford. The car company made many changes.
The Jaguar XJS was distinguished by its powerful V12 engine, with a choice of manual or automatic transmissions. However, the manual transmission was quickly dropped as an outdated feature from the V12 E Type.
Cars equipped with V12 engines at that time were extremely rare. Compared to sports cars such as Lamborghini or Ferrari of the same period, Jaguar XJS was even more impressive. The car could accelerate to 97 km/h in 7.6 seconds, with a capacity of 333 horsepower and a maximum speed of up to 230 km/h.
