At a new event held in Ho Chi Minh City, the pure electric super luxury car Rolls-Royce Spectre appeared next to the hybrid supercar McLaren Artura. These are all car lines that are already available in Vietnam in limited quantities and belong to two completely different segments.
While Spectre targets customers looking for a luxurious travel experience combined with electrochemical technology, Artura represents the philosophy of high-performance sports cars applying hybrid powertrains.
Rolls-Royce Spectre is the first pure electric car in the history of the British brand. This super-luxury coupe model possesses Rolls-Royce's signature design with a large grille, long body and lines inspired by famous car lines such as Wraith or Phantom.
In the Vietnamese market, the number of Rolls-Royce Spectre cars brought in is increasing with many different exterior and interior configurations. The model uses two electric motors with a maximum power of 577 horsepower and a maximum torque of 900 Nm. The car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in about 4.5 seconds.
According to the manufacturer's announcement, Spectre has a maximum operating range of about 520 km after each full charge according to WLTP standards. The 195 kW DC fast charging system allows charging from 10% to 80% in more than 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, the McLaren Artura is a high-performance hybrid supercar developed on the new chassis platform of the British automaker. The car combines a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with an electric motor, producing a total power of 671 horsepower and maximum torque of 720 Nm.
Thanks to the electrification powertrain, Artura can operate in pure electric mode for short distances before the internal combustion engine intervenes. The 7.4 kWh lithium-ion battery allows the car to travel about 31 km in zero-emission mode.
The appearance of Rolls-Royce Spectre and McLaren Artura in the same event shows the increasingly clear trend of electrification in the luxury and supercar segment in Vietnam. Although targeting different customer groups, both models reflect the technology transformation strategy of British car brands in the current period.
