The fire occurred at about 5:40 am on May 25 at an apartment on the upper floor of Nam An apartment building located on Dinh Bo Linh street, Ho Chi Minh City.
At that time, the fire started in the upper floor area of the building with dense black smoke rising. The incident occurred early in the morning when many people had not yet woken up. Many residents living in the apartment building quickly alerted each other and moved by stairs to escape to the ground safely.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire and Rescue Police of Ho Chi Minh City immediately mobilized dozens of officers and soldiers and many specialized fire trucks to quickly arrive at the scene. Functional forces deployed ladder trucks and water cannons to approach the burned apartment to control the fire and prevent it from spreading.
