The Maserati Gran Turismo that has just appeared on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City has attracted attention thanks to its unique appearance. The car has a rare purple paint color on Maserati models in Vietnam, creating a unique and outstanding style. The exterior is also supplemented with black paint and carbon panel details in many positions, helping to increase the sportiness and sophistication of the overall design.
The first-generation Maserati Gran Turismo, coded M145, was first launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 2007 and was produced until the end of 2019. This is one of Maserati's fastest-growing models, taking only 9 months from design to mass production. Initially, the car was equipped with a 4.2-liter V8 engine, then upgraded to a 4.7L in the Gran Turismo S version to increase performance.
During the development process, Maserati also introduced many high-performance versions such as Gran Turismo MC, MC Sport Line and MC Stradale - variants inspired by racing cars, optimizing performance and aerodynamics. In 2012, the company launched Gran Turismo Sport to replace the S version, using a 454-horsepower V8 4.7L engine combined with a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission. In 2018, the car was slightly refined with a new front bumper and wind divider, helping to reduce the drag coefficient from 0.33 to 0.32.
With a design imbued with the classic grand tourer style, a powerful V8 engine and a rare 3-digit license plate, the purple Maserati Gran Turismo quickly became the focus of attention for car enthusiasts when appearing in Ho Chi Minh City.
