On December 2, speaking with reporters, Mr. Hoang Manh Cuong - Vice Chairman of Cao Loc District People's Committee said that regarding the issue of people accusing Hong Phong stone quarry (Hong Phong commune, Cao Loc district) of causing environmental pollution, the District People's Committee has directed inspection and handling.
"The locality has assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, based on the reflection of Lao Dong Newspaper, to assess the situation, inspect and advise the District People's Committee to issue a directive document. After inspection and survey, if violations are detected, they will be handled according to regulations," said Mr. Cuong.
On the same day, Mr. Hoang Van Huan - Chairman of Hong Phong Commune People's Committee said that tomorrow (December 3), the Commune People's Committee will establish a delegation to inspect the Hong Phong quarry.

Previously, reflecting to Lao Dong Newspaper, people in Hong Phong and Phu Xa communes (Cao Loc district) were upset about environmental pollution, dust, and noise from mining and crushing activities at the Hong Phong quarry (Hong Phong commune).
On November 27, when present here, according to the reporter's records, although the stone mining and processing area of this unit is located nearly 1km from National Highway 1B, however, right from standing on the main road, the dust and noise pollution was clearly visible. Dust flew white on the roofs, tree branches, blades of grass...
On the only road connecting National Highway 1B with Hong Phong Commune, Phu Xa, 3-4-axle trucks lumbered one after another through potholes, kicking up dust. Occasionally, a few small stones fell from the truck onto the road.

It is worth noting that, according to observations, this quarry is only about 500m from Phu Xa Primary and Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities. The dust has significantly affected the teaching and learning activities of the school.
Not only does the quarry emit smoke and dust that pollutes the environment, it also severely damages the inter-commune road between Phu Xa and Hong Phong.

It is known that Hong Phong stone quarry is managed by Hong Phong Company Limited and has been operating for about 30 years.
