According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Tuan - Captain of Road Traffic Police Team No. 3 - Traffic Police Department, Yen Bai Provincial Police, this is a vital route, with a large volume of trucks transporting goods from the Southern Industrial Park and Huong Ly Port to neighboring provinces. The route passes through densely populated residential areas including: Van Phu commune (Yen Bai city), Van Tien commune, Phu Thinh commune (Tran Yen district) and Yen Binh town (Yen Binh district), so it often affects houses located close to the road and risks traffic safety.
This is also an area where many businesses exploit stone, stone powder, cement, leading to the movement of many heavy-duty vehicles for a long time, causing many locations on the road surface to deteriorate, causing dust and environmental pollution...
This situation is very complicated and has lasted for many years. The unit also continuously patrols and controls this route to handle the load and vehicle bodywork to ensure order and safety on the road, said Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Tuan.
The captain of Road Traffic Police Team No. 3 affirmed that after receiving the feedback, the unit organized patrols, controlled the entire route, and made records to handle more than 300 vehicles violating the load, expanding the cargo walls (only in the two weeks of March 2025).
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Tuan shared - it is a reality that currently heavy-duty vehicles apply many sophisticated avoidance measures, often avoiding patrolling and controlling by the authorities. The unit is consulting with the leaders of the Traffic Police Department of Yen Bai Province to develop plans to thoroughly handle this situation.
"In the immediate future, we have assigned officers to patrol and control the load and cargo along the Huong Ly port route to Van Phu bridge. For vehicles that are extended and not kept in the original container, the unit will make a record of handling and sign a commitment not to violate the law," informed the Captain of Road Traffic Police Team No. 3.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper for many days at the end of March 2025, due to the large number of trucks traveling day and night, along the route from the head of Van Phu bridge to Huong Ly port area, many sections of the road surface have peeled off and sunk deep, creating large potholes. The deep holes and cracks caused difficulties for people to travel, especially at night and in rainy and windy weather conditions.
