Air pollution is increasing ENT
Bustectomy is one of the issues of ENT ENT Masterclass international conference and head and neck surgery organized by Facing The World, Hanoi ENT Association and Hong Ngoc General Hospital for 2 days 31.3 - 1.4.
Associate Professor, Dr. Lam Huyen Tran - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City ENT Association warned that air pollution is directly affecting sinusitis - one of the most common ENT diseases in our country.
At Ho Chi Minh City ENT Hospital, diseases related to nooses and throats account for about 30 - 35% of the total number of patients coming for examination each year.
"When the air is polluted, the lining of the nose and throat is more susceptible to irritation. Even people with normal allergic rhinitis or sinusitis when exposed to polluted air will become a burden on the lining of the nose, causing inflammation and acute rhinitis.
Previously, acute sinusitis often occurred when exposed to weather changes, exposure to pollen flowers... but now acute sinusitis occurs all year round. In fact, in recent years, the rate of patients with rhinitis and respiratory infections has increased due to air pollution," said Dr. Tran.
Doctor Tran also said that people in big cities, with high population density, are at higher risk of sinusitis. The reason is that in big cities there are few green spaces, emissions from factories, vehicles... causing increased environmental pollution.

20% of the population has ENT problems
Dr. Ha Anh Duc, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management - Ministry of Health said: "This is a prestigious training program, especially meaningful when up to 20% of the population has problems with ENT and throat, in which 10% are at risk of developing into cancer, while cervical surgery is a difficult field, requiring high qualifications and proficiency in both expertise and aesthetics".
One of the topics of particular interest at the conference was thyroid surgery and voice preservation methods. This is an area that requires absolute precision, because the laryngos nerve, which controls the voice, is very vulnerable to damage during surgery.

Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hung, Deputy Director in charge of the Hanoi Department of Health, said: International cooperation is the shortest way to bring advanced medical techniques into the Vietnamese healthcare system.
This is not only an academic event, but also an opportunity for Vietnamese doctors to access new techniques and modern technology in the treatment of ENT diseases.
Methods such as neurological monitoring in surgery and endoscopic surgery are becoming increasingly popular, helping to reduce risks and improve treatment effectiveness, especially in difficult surgeries.

This conference also marked the first time the world's leading ENT Masterclass ENT ENT throat doctors were trained in Southeast Asia.
British Ambassador Iain Frew shared: This is an important event. As a British Ambassador, I am very proud that the program has brought the opportunity to exchange between British experts and Vietnamese doctors in the field of ENT treatment and cervical head surgery, thereby bringing benefits to patients. The UK will always support to promote health cooperation with Vietnam to jointly address health challenges for the community.
