On April 18, Chau Duc District Medical Center (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) said it was coordinating with the People's Committees of Quang Thanh, Cu Bi communes, and commune health stations to review and handle the first dengue fever outbreak according to the process.
The areas of these communes have just recorded one death due to dengue fever. Previously, on April 12, patient N.T.Q.N (born in 1997) had a high fever of unknown cause and was tired. On April 14, he was admitted to Cam My General Hospital for treatment and was diagnosed with dengue fever with warning signs (lack of ascorbic acid, noose bleeding).
After that, this patient felt tired and returned to her mother's house in Hiep Thanh hamlet (Quang Thanh commune). By the afternoon of April 15, the patient became seriously ill and was admitted to Long Khanh Regional General Hospital for inpatient treatment. On April 17, he was admitted to the Emergency - Resuscitation Department of Dong Nai General Hospital.
At this time, the patient was diagnosed with severe dengue fever N6; gastrointestinal bleeding; blood clotting disorder; multiple organ failure... At noon of the same day, the patient's family asked to let this patient go home to Hiep Cuong village (Cu Bi commune), then the patient died in the afternoon of the same day.
The epidemiological investigation process did not record any cases of dengue fever in the two communes of Quang Thanh and Cu Bi within the previous 14 days. Currently, Chau Duc District Medical Center coordinates with the health station to continue monitoring and investigating households in patient areas; mobilizing people to go for early examination if cases of fever of unknown cause appear.
