A doctor in Hanoi said that he is a urologist, working under a contract at a public hospital. In 2021, he did a full-time research in Korea (not a scholarship due to cooperation between hospitals or a scholarship sponsored by the Korean Government). In September 2021, he agreed to suspend his contract with written confirmation.
Since September 2021, this doctor has been doing research in Korea, and is expected to graduate in September 2025 and return to work at the hospital. His research area is the application of artificial intelligence in medicine.
This doctor was not allowed to participate in clinical practice during his fellowship due to regulations of the host country.
"After returning to work, my practice certificate has been suspended because I did not practice clinical continuously for more than 24 months? I have scientific research articles published in the magazine and present at the conferences continuously from 2022 to the present, after graduation, my doctorate is evidenced by the continuous medical training process?"
Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Health responded as follows:
According to the provisions of Point d Clause 1 Article 35 Law on Medical Examination and Treatment:
"Article 35. Revocation of practice license
1. The practice license is revoked in the following cases:
... d) The practitioner does not practice for 24 consecutive months, except in the case of participating in a specialized training program".
Thus, if he does not practice for 24 consecutive months but participates in a training program in urology, his practice certificate will not be revoked.
The supporting document is the professional degree he was awarded after completing the training program.
