Recently, many patients have been hospitalized in critical condition, with severe injuries after cosmetic interventions at spas and skin care facilities without professional functions. Common cases include bleeding after amputation of the baby's lips, aperture after afiller injection, and nasal deformities after many incorrect surgeries.
One of the serious cases is a 34 -year -old female patient, hospitalized in a state of non -bleeding in the baby's lips after surgery at a cosmetic facility in Hanoi. After performing eyelid surgery and reducing the private area, the patient shows signs of hematoma, prolonged bleeding, dizziness and panic. At Bach Mai Hospital, the doctor recorded a dark purple, swollen lips on both sides, no longer clearly distinguishing the boundary from the large lips, the incision continuously bleeding. The patient was taken to the emergency operating room to get hematoma, stop bleeding and restore physical body.
Another case was a 29-year-old female patient who came to a skin care facility for an ass filler injection. After only 6 hours, the patient suffered red, swollen, and burning at the injection site. The doctor touched many hard objects, the largest of which was 10x8cm in diameter, causing severe pain and pain, forcing surgery to dredge.
Also related to filler vaccination, a 25-year-old female patient experienced critical complications after being vaccinated at a spa in Ung Hoa (Hanoi). During the nasal section, the patient was injected with 3ml of Lidocaine and 1ml of Hyaluronic Acid. After only 15 minutes, she had severe symptoms: headache, nausea, dizziness, shortness of breath, slow heart rate, low blood pressure, dark purple nose area spreading to the right eye. Initially diagnosed with grade III anaphylactic shock and suspected anesthetic poisoning.
The patient was transferred from Van Dinh General Hospital to Bach Mai Hospital for emergency treatment. Here, doctors recorded severe swelling of the eye, cataracts, corneal inflammation and monitored for skin necrosis in the frontal nasal area. The condition of optic nerve damage No. III and the risk of vision loss must be closely monitored throughout the 41 hours after the injection.
MSc. Dr. Ta Thi Hong Thuy - Deputy Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery, Bach Mai Hospital - said that the common point of the hospitalized patients is that they have performed cosmetic surgery at facilities that are not licensed for surgery, without a professional doctor directly performing the surgery, and even without a supervisor. The use of anesthetics and fillers of unknown origin, incorrect injections, and procedures under unsecured infertility conditions are all causes of dangerous complications.
Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thi Viet Dung - Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery, Bach Mai Hospital - warned that when there is a need for beauty, people, especially women, need to be alert to choose reputable facilities and doctors with clear practice certificates. A facility that wants to perform cosmetic surgery, even if it is a simple on-site anesthesia, must at least be licensed to operate under the name of "Aesthetic Surgery Clinic", with full signs, information of the doctor in charge and practice license number.
"Many people, because they are greedy for cheap goods, advertise online and bet their health, even their lives, on behalf of unlicensed establishments. As a result, money is lost, disabilities are cared for, long-term treatment is required and many cases leave permanent sequelae" - Associate Professor. Dr. Viet Dung emphasized.
In reality, the demand for cosmetics is increasing, but accompanied by an explosion of illegal beauty establishments, untrue advertising, and activities outside of their professional scope. The lack of knowledge, subjectivity of the people and loopholes in management are making "underground" aesthetics a danger to the community.
