Fast beauty trends
In the short time before Tet, beauty services such as filler injections, botox, chemical peels, or instant skin whitening are widely advertised on social networks and spas. Promises of "beauty after just one treatment" or "instant results" often appeal to customers' desire for quick change. In particular, the practice of injecting fillers into breasts incorrectly at unlicensed facilities is increasing, leading to many serious health consequences.
The 19-year-old female patient, after giving birth to her first child, felt self-conscious because her breasts had shrunk significantly. She decided to get filler injections at an unlicensed spa after being lured by attractive advertisements. Immediately after the injection, she experienced symptoms such as dizziness, fainting, chills and fever and had to be hospitalized in the emergency room. Although the brain scan results showed no abnormalities, the patient experienced pain, swelling, lumps in the breast, accompanied by periodic fevers and hot swelling.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hong Ha - Head of the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery - Plastic Surgery - Aesthetics, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, said that injecting fillers into the breasts is not allowed according to regulations of the Ministry of Health. Currently, products such as artificial fat or smuggled fillers of unknown origin are still widely used at unlicensed facilities. These substances pose high risks, especially when injected into the mammary glands, causing blood vessel blockage, infection, and even leading to the risk of cancer.
Associate Professor Ha warned that injecting substances of unknown origin can cause blood vessel blockage, leading to dangerous complications such as pulmonary or cerebral embolism, which is directly life-threatening. Infections from fillers often cause fever, chills, pus, and in severe cases can lead to mastectomy.
Incorrect, incorrect and unauthorized filler injections are becoming an increasingly serious problem in the beauty trend, especially near Tet when many people seek quick beauty methods without paying attention to the regulations of the Ministry of Health. This has led to unfortunate consequences for the health of patients.
Potential risks
Doctors recommend that before deciding to have breast augmentation, you should carefully learn about safe methods licensed by the Ministry of Health. Currently, endoscopic breast augmentation surgery through the armpit is recognized as safe and effective. Thanks to modern endoscopic techniques, patients experience less pain, recover quickly, and do not leave scars on the breasts.
Beauty treatments should be performed at reputable facilities with medical licenses to ensure safety and avoid unwanted complications.
Some people choose to beautify themselves at home with untested products such as mixed creams, skin whitening pills, or self-injecting fillers according to online instructions. Low cost, fast implementation time and immediate results are factors that attract many people.
Mixed cream products often contain strong bleaching agents that cause severe skin irritation. Many people face skin redness, rashes or even chemical burns.
Injecting filler or botox incorrectly or using poor quality products can cause infection, tissue necrosis or facial deformity.
"It is legitimate to beautify yourself to welcome Tet, but don't sacrifice your health and long-term beauty for quick results. Be wise in choosing safe and suitable beauty methods to have a radiant and confident appearance without worrying about unnecessary risks," Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hong Ha advised.
