Reader Trung Son said: "I am studying for a master's degree in Pediatrics at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy but have not yet had a practice license. I would like to ask, by 2025, if I have a master's degree, can I use this degree to get a medical practice license? Do I have to practice again?"
Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Health responded as follows:
According to the provisions of Decree No. 96/2023/ND-CP dated December 30, 2023 of the Government detailing a number of articles of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment, people with a master's degree in the health sector will be considered for a practice license.
In case the application submission date is more than 24 months from the date of being granted a master's degree, there must be a practice period according to the provisions of the above Decree.
