On December 30, according to Lao Dong, Phu Binh District General Hospital received a patient with signs of CO poisoning.
Accordingly, the patient is a female (born in 1977), admitted to the hospital in a state of drowsiness, headache, low oxygen pressure of 70-80, and poor health. The patient's family said that due to a power outage, the mother and child ran the generator and then closed the door to go to sleep. Later, the family came home from work and discovered the situation and took the mother to the emergency room. The child was less seriously injured and received first aid at home.
At the hospital, doctors gave the patient high-flow oxygen, 0.9% sodium chloride infusion, and intravenous corticosteroids. After treatment, the patient's health gradually stabilized.
According to doctors, the patient was discovered and given timely emergency care, and his ability to respond to treatment was good. If he had been discovered 30 minutes later, he would likely not have survived.
Doctors recommend that in cold weather, people should consider using charcoal for heating. Absolutely do not burn charcoal indoors, keep the doors closed, because this type of charcoal produces a large amount of CO gas. In particular, when using a generator, it must be placed in a well-ventilated area. Do not run the machine in a closed house and then go to sleep, it is very dangerous.
