Doctor Nguyen Bao Chi - Department of Intensive Care - Anti-poison - said that old age and nearly 80 bee stings cause a very large amount of toxins to enter the patient's body.
Patients face the risk of kidney failure, liver damage, blood clotting disorders, respiratory failure and multiple organ failure. The condition must be closely monitored every hour to promptly handle abnormal developments" - Dr. Chi said.
The old man was immediately transferred to the Intensive Care - Anti-Poison Department, respiratory support, intravenous fluids, electrolyte adjustment, use of anti-allergy drugs, antibiotics and close monitoring of liver, kidney, and blood clotting function.
Faced with the risk of further organ damage, the treatment team placed a catheter and conducted continuous blood filtration to support kidney function and control metabolic disorders.
After many days of intensive treatment, the patient's health gradually improved, recovering spectacularly. By July 30, after 12 days of treatment, the old man was awake, his health was stable and qualified for discharge.
Doctors recommend that people who are stung by bees with many spots or have symptoms of shortness of breath, dizziness, facial edema, whole body pain, oliguria, dark urine should go to a medical facility immediately, absolutely do not self-treat at home.
