On August 7, Quang Nam Central General Hospital announced that Mr. N.M.P. (33 years old, from Quang Ngai) went to the hospital because of chest pain and fatigue. As soon as he entered the clinic, he suddenly suffered a stroke, fell into a coma, had a cardiac arrest, and stopped breathing. Doctors immediately resuscitated the heart and lungs. After more than 1 minute of chest pressure, the patient had a pulse back and could breathe on its own.

However, the patient was still in critical condition with SpO2 only 50-70%, severe chest pain, and low blood pressure. The results of the interdisciplinary consultation determined that the patient had a widespread pulmonary attack due to a blood clot on both sides of the pulmonary artery.
After being given an ethymopath but not improved, the patient fell into severe respiratory failure, was placed in the endotracheal section and transferred to Cath Lab room for thrombopulmonary and pulmonary artery drainage. After 30 minutes of intervention, SpO2 increased to 95-97%, blood pressure was stable.

The hospital's leaders affirmed that quick response, effective coordination and equipping all employees with in-depth resuscitation skills are key factors to help save the life of this critical cardiac arrest case.
