Information from Can Tho Central General Hospital, with the support of experts and doctors of the hospital, has performed ultrasound endoscopy techniques. This is a technique that is being implemented for the first time in the Mekong Delta.
Accordingly, experts have trained on ultrasound endoscopy (EUS) and reflux pancreas endoscopy (ERCP), cases that are difficult for endoscopists, have performed 11 cases of diagnostic ultrasound endoscopy, 2 cases of reflux pancreas endoscopy with secretory stent placement, 1 case of SpyGlass stones due to many stones and large stones, ... with the guidance of leading experts in digestive endoscopy such as Japan, Australia, France and digestive endoscopy experts from the Vietnam Endoscopy Association.

Dr. CKII Nguyen Thi Quynh Mai - Head of the Department of Endoscopy said that ultrasound endoscopy is a combination of endoscopy and ultrasound techniques. This is an advanced and modern method, using endoscopic cables with ultrasound detectors to help diagnose and intervene with damage to the digestive tract, gallbladder, pancreas, mucous membranes and the lining of the digestive tract.
According to the plan, along with the establishment of the Endoscopy Center in mid-2025, Can Tho Central General Hospital will be fully equipped with advanced equipment, meeting the requirements of advanced diagnosis and endoscopic intervention, implementing in-depth endoscopy techniques to help diagnose and treat some complex liver and gallbladder diseases, deploying large stones in the giard chip with laser via the SpyGlass system, as well as biological facilities to detect yellow blood sugar and gallbladder cancer.

The hospital also trains and develops a team of high-quality medical human resources in the field of endoscopy, especially new, difficult, and less invasive endoscopic techniques; applying high technology, artificial intelligence (AI) to support diagnosis;... contributing to reducing upper-level burden and improving treatment quality for people in the area.
Previously, at the 9th National Gastrointestinal Internal Medicine Conference held on April 18-19, jointly organized by Can Tho Central General Hospital, 67 high-quality scientific reports were gathered with 1,000 delegates attending, focusing on in-depth topics: diagnosis and treatment of early gastrointestinal cancer via endoscopy, deployment and application of endoscopy diagnosis and treatment techniques, diagnostic ultrasound endoscopy and intervention, bloodline pancreas endoscopy, application of AI in digestive endoscopy.
