Lao Cai launches the "Digital Food Safety Map" System

Lao Cai - April 2nd, the Department of Health organized a conference to launch and introduce the "Digital Food Safety Map" System (Lao Cai FoodSafe).

Attending the Conference were leaders of departments and agencies, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (PA05) - Lao Cai Provincial Police; leaders of People's Committees of wards and communes, along with representatives of a number of typical food production and business establishments in the area.

In recent years, ensuring food safety and hygiene has always been one of the key tasks that the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Lao Cai province have paid special attention to. In the digital age context, the application of information technology in state management is no longer an option but an urgent requirement to improve efficiency and transparency.

Implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on national science, technology and digital transformation development; and based on Plan No. 215 of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee on digital transformation in 2026, the Department of Health has deployed the construction of the "Lao Cai Provincial Digital Food Safety Map" System with the name Lao Cai FoodSafe.

The "Lao Cai Provincial Digital Food Safety Map" system is built to digitize data, helping to monitor, inspect and evaluate food establishments in a scientific and timely manner.

At the same time, it is a basis to affirm prestige, publicize service quality and get closer to customers; helping people easily look up and choose safe and reliable dining locations through mobile devices, contributing to protecting community health and promoting sustainable local tourism development.

Speaking at the Conference, Director of Lao Cai Provincial Department of Health Hoang Quoc Huong affirmed that the "Digital Food Safety Map" System is one of the prominent applications in the digital transformation process of the health sector, contributing to improving the efficiency of state management, and at the same time providing transparent and timely information to people and businesses in the field of food safety.
