In recent years, mental health examination and treatment facilities have recorded a trend of increasing young people coming for examination due to stress, academic and work pressure. Many cases are initially just prolonged stress, but if not identified and supported early, it can lead to psychological disorders, directly affecting health and working ability.

At Mai Huong Day Mental Hospital (Bach Mai Ward, Hanoi), a female patient shared that to relieve pressure at work, she spent a lot of time surfing social networks to watch short videos.
Initially, watching videos helps reduce the feeling of stress. However, this habit gradually causes patients to stay up late, eat irregularly, and sleep disorders. Prolonged insomnia leads to rapid weight loss, body fatigue, and reduced work efficiency. The more pressure, the more patients turn to the phone to relieve it, creating a stress loop that is difficult to escape.
At the peak, when the weight loss and insomnia were prolonged, this person had to go for an examination at a medical department. After excluding other medical causes, the doctor transferred this person to a psychiatrist for evaluation and support.
According to MSc.BS Nguyen Khac Dung - Deputy Head of the Clinical Department, Mai Huong Day Mental Hospital, cases related to stress and work pressure are not uncommon nowadays. Notably, many patients do not recognize their psychological manifestations.

Many people face work pressure but do not realize that it is a manifestation of psychological stress. They only feel tired, vague pain, difficulty concentrating or fear of having to think about work," the doctor said.
Patients may feel prolonged fatigue, unexplained pain, difficulty concentrating, memory decline, or develop a psychology of avoiding work. Some cases may even only recognize the problem when insomnia, loss of appetite, or prolonged weight loss occur.
Dr. Dung also emphasized that currently some businesses have begun to pay attention to the mental health of employees, including psychological counseling or mental health check-ups in periodic health care programs.
Early detection of psychological problems is important in preventing mental illness. With timely support, many cases can adjust their lifestyle, remove difficulties at work and avoid the risk of developing into more severe mental disorders.
