Some people who come to Tien Giang General Hospital for medical examination and treatment have complained that from the stage of going to the health insurance examination to getting the medicine, it takes the whole morning, or even the afternoon. They hope that the hospital leaders will review and shorten the time to register for medical examination and receive health insurance medicine.
Sitting in the waiting area at the hepatitis clinic, Ms. Doan Thi Dao (living in Cai Lay town, Tien Giang province) said that this is also a daily situation every time she goes to Tien Giang General Hospital for health insurance. Every month, Ms. Dao goes to the hospital for check-ups and to get medicine. Each time she goes is a "haunting" time because the waiting time is very long, early takes half a day, late has to wait until noon.
According to Ms. Dao, it was almost the end of the morning working day but the doctor had not yet ordered her to take a test. Such a waiting situation made a patient like her very tired.
“Every time I go to the hospital, I know it will take half a day. If I want to finish the examination early in the morning, I have to go early. The longest waiting time is still waiting to register for the examination, then waiting for the doctor to examine me and get medicine. I hope to reduce the waiting time so that health insurance patients will have less trouble,” Ms. Dao confided.
Mr. Le Minh Tri (residing in Go Cong City, Tien Giang Province) said that he has hepatitis so he has to go to the doctor every month to get medicine. But the process of registering for health insurance examination takes a long time, followed by the process of waiting for his turn to see a doctor and finally the process of waiting to get medicine.
“We need to apply machines and technology to replace humans in the medical registration process. At the same time, we need to open more clinics to solve the waiting problem. Currently, people have to wait a long time every time they go to the hospital,” said Mr. Tri.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Mai Huy Truc - Head of Planning and Synthesis Department (Tien Giang Provincial General Hospital) said that on average, the hospital receives about 2,000 visits per day. Of which, the cardiology clinic has the largest number of patients coming for examination, leading to congestion here.
Mr. Truc said that in order to reduce waiting time for patients, in the coming time, Tien Giang General Hospital will deploy many technological solutions to serve patients registering online, open more examination rooms, and allocate reasonable appointment schedules for people coming for re-examination to avoid crowded gatherings.
“Currently, the unit is developing a plan to organize a bidding process to implement a technology package to serve online medical examination registration. At that time, patients can go straight to the hospital examination room at the scheduled time,” said Mr. Truc.
