On September 21, An Phuoc General Hospital, Lam Dong province, said it had promptly treated a man with a broken iron piece from a grass cutter tongue thrown to his neck.
The victim, Mr. M.H.C (33 years old, residing in Ham Thuan Nam commune) was taken to the hospital for emergency care. While using a grass cutter, a piece of iron nearly 3cm long broke from the cutter and spread strongly, stabbed from the front to the back and stuck deep into Mr. C's neck.

The location of the cross-sectional iron piece is only a very small distance from the aorta. Doctors quickly operated, separated and removed the entire foreign object. Thanks to timely intervention, the iron piece has not damaged large blood vessels or the trachea. After surgery, the victim's health has stabilized.

Recently, in the eastern area of Lam Dong province, especially localities that grow a lot of dragon fruit, there have been many labor accidents when using a grass cutter and breaking the cutting edge, throwing it into the body, causing damage and there have been deaths.

Doctors recommend that workers using a weed cutting machine need to be fully equipped with protective gear (necklaces, gloves, long-sleeved clothes). The units that provide mechanical fish farming machines also recommend that people switch from using iron cutting blades to using rice paper to reduce risks.
