More than 270 regional health stations, infirmaries and general clinics in the province under the management of health centers have just been transferred to the People's Committees at the commune level. This is the first step in the roadmap to promote the role of local authorities in health care for people right at the grassroots level.
The whole province has 268 health stations, 1 infirmary and 5 regional general clinics. Previously, these stations, infirmaries, and clinics were under the management of medical centers (under the Department of Health).
Implement the policy of rearranging public service units, state-owned enterprises and focal points within agencies and organizations in the political system of the province, the province will transfer health stations, infirmaries, and regional polyclinics under the health center to the People's Committees of communes and wards for management, from December 15, 2025.
The transfer is carried out according to the principle of transferring the status quo of the organizational apparatus, finance, human resources, land, facilities, equipment, etc.
In particular, the Trinh Bac regional general clinic under Son Tinh Medical Center and the Tinh Khe regional general clinic under Quang Ngai Medical Center are not subject to being transferred to the commune level for management in this arrangement. Because these two clinics are organized internally as departments and rooms under the health center, not performing the functions and tasks of the health station.
Based on the handover from the Department of Health, 95 communes and wards of the province (except for Ly Son special area because the locality does not have a health station under the center) are urgently implementing the next steps to move towards establishing a commune-level health station and completing it before December 25, 2025.
Accordingly, each commune and ward has 1 health station and the previous commune-level health stations will become medical examination points to meet the initial health care needs of the people in the area.
After the transfer, localities continue to implement the roadmap to reorganize commune-level health stations into public service units under the People's Committees at the commune level.
