The total number of inpatients admitted to hospital in the past 24 hours was 128,066. The total number of surgeries was 14,206, of which 2,410 were emergency surgeries due to accidents. Regarding medical examination and emergency treatment related to traffic accidents and suspected traffic accidents during the Tet holiday, the Ministry of Health said that in the past 24 hours from 7:00 a.m. on January 29 to 7:00 a.m. on January 30, 2025, the total number of medical examinations and emergency treatment for suspected traffic accidents was 2,849 people. The total number of medical examinations and emergency treatment in the past 5 days was 16,897 people.
The number of patients suspected of being involved in traffic accidents who had to be hospitalized for inpatient treatment or monitoring in the past 24 hours was 1,324 people. The total in the past 5 days was 6,622 people.
In the past 5 days, the total number of deaths suspected to be due to traffic accidents was 98, of which 48 people died before reaching a medical facility, 23 people died at a medical facility, and 27 people were expected to die after being discharged.
In the past 24 hours, there were 121 cases of emergency care due to firecrackers and fireworks; there were 3 cases of emergency care due to accidents caused by homemade weapons and explosives. Compared to the same period of the Giap Thin Lunar New Year, this year, there was a sharp decrease in the number of emergency care due to firecrackers and fireworks, and homemade weapons and explosives.
In the past 24 hours, the number of people examined and treated for digestive disorders, poisoning from homemade food, and drunkenness from beer/alcohol was 104, of whom 102 had to be hospitalized for monitoring and treatment. The Ministry of Health said that in total, during the 5-day Tet holiday, 483 people were examined and treated for digestive disorders, poisoning from homemade food, and drunkenness from beer/alcohol, of whom 294 had to be hospitalized for monitoring and treatment, and no deaths were recorded.
According to the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, Ministry of Health, all medical examination and treatment facilities strictly follow the direction of the Ministry of Health on strengthening medical examination and treatment during the 2025 Lunar New Year, ensuring regular emergency medical care and full on-call reporting.
To date, there have been no recorded hospitalizations due to accidents or mass food poisoning. The situation of medical examinations, emergency care; hospitalizations, and deaths from suspected traffic accidents have decreased significantly compared to the same period of the 2024 Lunar New Year. Medical examinations and emergency care for accidents suspected to be caused by firecrackers have decreased compared to the same period of the 2024 Lunar New Year.
