On June 1, the Department of Health reported to the People's Committee of Dong Nai province on the progress of inspection, verification, and clarification of information about the advertisement of the product "Nestle Milo Barley Milk Supplement" of Nestle Vietnam Co., Ltd.
According to the Department of Health, regarding the process of handling the case, as soon as it received information for handling, the Department of Health determined that this was a rather complicated case, related to many sectors, affected by many specialized laws: Law on Food Safety, Law on Product Quality, Law on Advertising, Law on Technical Standards and Regulations, Law on Consumer Protection.
In order to ensure the objectivity in the process of handling the case, uphold the responsibility in interdisciplinary coordination, the Department of Health has established an interdisciplinary inspection team with the coordination with the PC 3 Police Department, Department of Justice, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Market Management Department of Dong Nai Province to conduct inspection, verification and clarification of signs of violations of enterprises.
The case has been investigated by the Department of Health to verify, clarify and handle in accordance with the law on the basis of unity between the inspection team and the representative of the Department of Health: Nestle Vietnam Co., Ltd. has shown signs of "deceit or confuse consumers through providing false, incomplete and incorrect information about one of the contents prescribed at Clause 1, Article 10 of consumers.
During the inspection, the inspection team focused on clarifying the information reflecting and directing the Department of Food Safety on advertising the product "Nestle Milo Barley Milk Supplement" of Nestle Vietnam Co., Ltd.
In addition, the inspection team took samples of Nestle Milo Barley Supplemental Food Products to assess safety indicators and product quality indicators.
On May 28, 2025, the Center for Standards and Metrology of Quality 3 returned the test result No. KT3-03213BTP5 for the sample "Nestle Milo barley milk supplement". Test results: The product has safety indicators and quality indicators in accordance with the self-declaration dossier (Self-declaration Certificate No. 88/ PEDULE VIET NAM/2020) and Product detailed information (TCCS 88:2020/NLV).
