Responding to this issue, Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan - Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security said that the issue related to counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, and food hygiene and safety is of great concern to the public.
Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan stated that the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security have directed the drastic implementation of the fight against these acts. In which, the ministry has directed the launch of a peak period of attack and suppression of all types of crimes in this field.
Although the Prime Minister directed the launch of a peak period of illegal and counterfeit goods collection for 1 month, the Ministry of Public Security directed all local police and police forces to carry out it for 3 months (from May 15 to August 15).
The Ministry of Public Security also continues to advise, improve institutions, and overcome loopholes and shortcomings in State management in this field. At the same time, it is recommended to increase penalties for some types of crimes related to the crime of manufacturing and trading counterfeit goods, violating regulations on food hygiene and safety.
Through the fight, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security said that the type of activity related to smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, banned goods, poor quality goods, and food hygiene and safety is very complicated. There are very large-scale, prolonged crops with very sophisticated tricks.
The types of counterfeit goods produced and traded are very diverse and have many fields. Notably, those in the fields of food, medicine, cosmetics, milk, etc. are very dangerous.
"This is not only related to the health and economic problems of the people, but more deeply, it must be seen that this is related to the quality of our current and even future labor resources," Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan emphasized.
The Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security also mentioned false advertising through reputable and famous people. These people advertise on social networks to sell products.
Through the struggle, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security said that there was a great concern that in some cases, there was the support and cover-up of State management agency officials. These are issues that need to be noted.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Public Security from the peak period from May 15 to June 3, police forces at all levels and units have focused on identifying and grasping the situation of detecting and combating this behavior. Of which, 36 cases and 119 defendants have been prosecuted for smuggling, trade fraud, production, and trading of counterfeit goods, and other acts in 24 localities.
In addition to fighting to clarify the criminal acts of the subjects, it also clarified the handling of the criminal acts of some officials in state management agencies. Recently, a number of people who were former officials of State management agencies have been prosecuted.
At the same time, the police force also clarified and handled a number of acts related to false advertising.
In the coming time, the Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security said that the Ministry of Public Security continues to direct the implementation of fierce struggle with production and trading of fake, fake and poor quality goods; clarify and strictly handle violating officials if any; Determine the responsibility of advertising units and individuals famous for promoting false products.
At the same time, speed up the investigation of cases that have been prosecuted, handle the case widely, clarify the causes and conditions for committing crimes.
