According to the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police, recently, some leaders of agencies and units of the province received text messages stating that the subject had secretly followed, recorded and threatened to post video clips on social networks; printed and edited images and pasted them around the agencies and units; and denounced to superiors and agencies about violations...
For example, someone received an image of himself lying in bed next to a woman, as if taken from a video clip filmed in a hotel bedroom.

The subjects asked the recipient of the message to prepare 2 billion VND and contact them; committed to providing all evidence and images after receiving the money and keeping it absolutely confidential. Then, they instructed them to transfer the money to bank accounts or virtual currency wallets (USDT) specified by them.
Through the use of image analysis and evaluation techniques, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police determined that this was a trick of cutting out someone else's face from the internet, then using photo editing tools to replace the face.
Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police have informed the leaders of departments, branches and localities; requested to coordinate and request cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers to strictly comply with regulations on protecting personal information on the Internet. When receiving such messages, do not follow the requests of the subjects; promptly notify the police for instructions.
