On April 26, Ha Nam Provincial Police informed that the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention of the Provincial Police has just discovered and strictly handled the act of commenting on offensive information and dividing regions on social networks.
Previously, on April 24, through reviewing and managing on cyberspace, the authorities discovered that the Facebook account had posted a comment with indecent content, discriminating against regions in the group "Ninh Binh Review Tat Tan Tat".
According to the police, the comments used offensive, insulting words, and localized discrimination, affecting the spirit of solidarity between the three provinces of Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, and Ninh Binh; causing public outrage, negatively affecting the process of arranging and merging provincial administrative units.
The verification process determined that the account owner was V.C.V (born in 1990, Thanh Liem district, Ha Nam province). Ha Nam Provincial Police have worked and consolidated the case file to issue a Decision to administratively sanction V.C.V for the act of providing and sharing false information, distorting, slandering, and insulting the reputation of agencies, organizations, honor, and dignity of individuals according to regulations. The fine is VND 7,500,000, and V.C.V is required to remove commentary and violation, and commit not to repeat the offense.
Through the above incident, Ha Nam Provincial Police recommends that people need to raise their sense of responsibility when participating in social networks, not share, comment, or disseminate content that is inciting, dividing, or distorting the truth; absolutely do not believe in unverified information, causing inciting, or disunity between localities; when detecting violations, people need to promptly notify the authorities for handling according to regulations.
