President Donald Trump has just announced that he will be present at MetLife Stadium on the morning of July 14 (Vietnam time) to watch the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 final. This is the first time a US President has attended the final of this tournament in person.
Mr Trump's decision was announced shortly after FIFA President Gianni Infantino opened his official office at Trump Tower in New York on July 7.
According to the plan, the championship trophy will be displayed here until the day of the final between Chelsea and the semi-final winner Real Madrid - PSG.
"We have received a lot of support from the US Government and President Trump personally in organizing this FIFA Club World Cup as well as the next World Cup. As a representative organization for world football, FIFA needs to be present in important places like New York," Mr. Infantino shared.
The US President's live attendance of an international football match marks a big step forward and the influence of king of sports in the US.
Previously, in 1994, President Bill Trump and his wife Hillary appeared at the opening ceremony of the World Cup held in the US, paving the way for the strong development of football here.
