3 wards in Ho Chi Minh City clear more than 15,700 houses, urgently build 4,508 resettlement houses

Ho Chi Minh City will build about 4,508 apartments to serve resettlement when renovating the south bank of Doi canal and other projects in 3 wards Chanh Hung, Binh Dong, Phu Dinh.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction has just included 5 social housing and resettlement housing projects in the list of projects to be implemented in the 2026 - 2030 period according to urgent requirements that need to be implemented immediately.

According to the plan, from now to 2030, Ho Chi Minh City will clear more than 15,700 houses to implement 21 projects to renovate and embellish canals and ditches in 3 wards of Chanh Hung, Binh Dong and Phu Dinh.

To serve resettlement, the city will implement 5 social housing and resettlement housing projects with a total of about 4,508 apartments.

The resettlement housing project at land plot No. 400 Nguyen Duy (Chanh Hung ward) is built on an area of nearly 14,000m2, expected to arrange 1,492 apartments with a total capital of about 2,037 billion VND.

The Phu Dinh river port resettlement housing project (Phu Dinh ward) has an area of more than 7,600m2, expected to arrange 716 apartments, with a total capital of about 1,315 billion VND.

The resettlement housing project at land plot 467 - 469 Ben Binh Dong (Phu Dinh ward) is built on a land plot of 2,540m2, with a scale of 237 apartments, with a total capital of about 503 billion VND.

The housing project at land plots No. 338 and 1387 Ben Binh Dong (Phu Dinh ward) has an area of more than 12,000m2, expected to arrange 1,293 apartments with a total capital of about 1,725 billion VND.

The social housing project at land plot 617 - 629 Ben Binh Dong (Phu Dinh ward) is more than 5,144m2 wide, with a scale of about 320 apartments, total capital of about 445 billion VND.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, the focus in the coming time is the project to renovate the south bank of the Doi canal with about 5,800 households being relocated, divided into 4 sections for implementation.

The section from Rach Ong bridge to Mat bridge (Chanh Hung ward) is expected to clear 860 households. The section from Mat bridge to Hiep An bridge (Chanh Hung ward) clears about 2,042 households.

The section from Hiep An bridge to Ba Tang bridge (Binh Dong ward) is expected to relocate 1,278 households, while the section from Ba Tang bridge to the south bank of Doi canal (Binh Dong ward) will clear about 1,627 households.

Besides the Doi canal project, a series of other canal and ditch renovation projects will also be implemented simultaneously in this area.

In which, the urban embellishment project of Xom Cui canal (Binh Dong ward) will relocate about 1,190 houses; the Ong Lon canal project (Chanh Hung ward) relocates 720 houses; the Ba Tang canal project (Binh Dong ward) relocates 393 houses.

The urban embellishment project combined with compensation, support, and resettlement along the Can Giuoc River (Binh Dong ward) is expected to clear 250 houses.

In Phu Dinh ward, the Ba Do canal renovation project will relocate about 280 houses with a total investment of about 1,144 billion VND, while the Ba Ca canal project is expected to clear 174 houses.

In addition, there are also projects to renovate Du canal section from Cao Lo street to Huynh Thi Phung street (relocating 420 houses), Cau Don canal (106 houses), Bo De canal (80 houses), Ong Nho canal section from Cao Lo street to Rach Song Sang bridge (606 houses), East bank of Xom Cui canal (287 houses) and West bank of Ong Nho canal (650 houses).
