At the fourth session, the 18th Lang Son Provincial People's Council, term 2026-2031, passed a resolution adjusting the Housing Development Program for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045.
According to the resolution, by 2030, the whole province strives to develop an additional 13.5 million m2 of floor space, equivalent to about 97,521 houses.
The average housing area per capita is expected to reach 37 m2 of floor space, of which urban areas reach 40 m2, and rural areas reach 35 m2.
By 2035, this target will be raised to 45 m2 of floor space per person and reach 50 m2 by 2045. The minimum housing area in the province by 2030 is determined to be 8 m2 of floor space per person.
Lang Son sets a target that by 2030, solid and semi-solid housing will account for 100% in both urban and rural areas, limiting the emergence of unsold and rudimentary houses.
By 2045, the province will maintain the results of eliminating temporary houses and degraded houses that do not ensure safety.
According to the adjusted program, the demand for social housing for groups benefiting from policies in the province is about 4,772 units.
In the period up to 2030, Lang Son strives to complete at least 3,772 units, equivalent to about 250,000 m2 of floor space.
This result reached about 125% of the target of 3,000 units assigned by the Prime Minister and met nearly 80% of the total social housing demand in the area.
Of these, about 3,000 units, equivalent to 19,000 m2 of floor space, are for low-income people and policy beneficiaries.
About 772 units, with a total floor area of 55,000 m2, are reserved for the armed forces.
The province also plans to build 1,224 worker dormitories for rent, with a total floor area of about 115,000 m2. Official housing is developed or arranged about 298 units, with a total area of more than 36,200 m2.
The land fund for social housing in the period 2021-2030 is expected to be about 17.6 ha. Land for developing official housing is about 3.076 ha and can be supplemented when needs arise.
For commercial housing, Lang Son aims to complete about 6.6 million m2 of floor space, equivalent to 38,061 units in urban areas, residential areas and residential areas.
The housing area built by households and individuals is expected to increase by about 6.5 million m2 of floor space, equivalent to 54,167 units.
In the period 2026-2030, the province strives to complete the project to renovate and rebuild the Kon Lai apartment complex, Dong Kinh ward, associated with urban embellishment.
