The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee is planning to organize an auction of the right to use 7 plots of land in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area in 2026. These are all land plots with completed technical infrastructure, basically completed compensation and site clearance, ready for market launch.
The list of land plots to be auctioned here includes lots 3-8, 3-9, 3-12 ( Functional Area No. 3); lots 7-1, 7-17 ( Functional Area No. 7); lots 1-12 ( Functional Area No. 1) and lots 4-21 ( Functional Area No. 4).
Of the 7 plots of land to be auctioned, plots 3-8, 3-9 and 3-12 (belonging to functional area No. 3, planned to become a multi-functional urban area mixed with commercial works, houses, schools and parks) were successfully auctioned at the end of 2021, but the winning enterprise did not fulfill its financial obligations on time and asked to forfeit the deposit.
In addition to the new auction plan, Ho Chi Minh City requires the leaders of An Khanh ward to coordinate with the City Urban Development Management Board to speed up the compensation and site clearance progress for lot 12; at the same time, complete the technical infrastructure at lot 3-17 ( Functional area No. 3) and lot 5-3 ( Functional area No. 5) to meet the conditions for implementing the next steps.
The Department of Finance is assigned to prepare a list of investment calling for investment and organize bidding for projects using land in the sports - entertainment complex in the 2c Functional Area, along with the 8-1, 8-2, 8-3 backpacks in the Eco-forestry Area project.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to coordinate with the Land Fund Development Center and related units to develop a detailed plan, and promptly submit it to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for consideration to implement the auction.
The Thu Thiem new urban area was approved by the Prime Minister in 1996 with a scale of 930 hectares, of which the new urban area is 770 hectares, and 160 hectares are resettled. Located in a prime location on the East bank of the Saigon River opposite the central area of Ho Chi Minh City.
