On November 23, a source from Lao Dong Newspaper confirmed that the authorities had stopped the auction of 127 land lots in residential group 12, Tan An ward.
Previously, on November 3, Auction Center No. 1 (under the Department of Justice of Dak Lak province) issued a notice about the auction of 127 land lots in this area. Legally, all plots of land have the purpose of use as urban land.
The units with the rights, obligations and responsibilities in implementing the auction include: Auction Center No. 1, Tan An Ward People's Committee and Buon Ma Thuot Construction Investment Project Management Board.
Actual research shows that this area belongs to the golden land of the ancient city of Buon Ma Thuot. Therefore, the auction attracted great attention from people and real estate businesses.
The total starting price for 127 plots of land is more than 360 billion VND, excluding taxes, fees and charges according to current regulations. Of which, the land lot with the largest area of 247m2, starting price is about 5.6 billion VND, deposit is more than 1.1 billion VND.
The report of Auction Service Center No. 1 said that there were more than 500 registered participants, with a total deposit of more than 740 billion VND. The auction is scheduled to take place at 8:00 a.m. on November 21, 2025.
However, the auction was not organized as planned. The person who submitted the application or made the deposit did not receive a notice of the cause.
Mr. H.H.T (residing in Buon Ma Thuot ward) said: "I planned to buy a plot of land with a starting price of 2.5 billion VND and have deposited nearly 500 million VND. However, on November 21, when I and many others attended, we were informed that we would refund the deposit. The auction was canceled but no one explained why.
Mr. T added: "There are investors who register to buy dozens of plots of land, depositing tens of billions of VND, so they are very upset. They raised money, even borrowed from banks to participate, but now the auction was suddenly canceled, causing them to bear additional interest. We believe that the authorities are not transparent in their work and do not respect the rights of people and investors.
According to the Buon Ma Thuot Construction Investment Project Management Board, the arrangement, streamlining of the apparatus and implementation of two-level local governments have led to changes in the entities with auctioned assets (Ben A). The information listed is no longer accurate and legal, and needs to be adjusted in documents such as service contracts, property auction notices and related documents.
In addition, there is a plot of land DOLK5-23 with confused angles during the appraisal and approval of starting price. Therefore, the unit has proposed to the competent authority to allow the auction of 127 plots of land in Tan An ward to stop.
The leader of the Buon Ma Thuot Construction Investment Project Management Board affirmed: "The temporary suspension of the auction is to avoid errors and risks. We will coordinate with relevant units to reorganize the auction soon after completing the procedures and regulations of the law".
