On the morning of October 1, Mr. Nguyen Le Thanh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Son My commune, Lam Dong province - said that this morning, the locality coordinated with the Branch of the Land Fund Development Center No. 1 to continue paying compensation and support for households allocating land for site clearance (GPMB) for the Son My 1 Industrial Park (IP).
This time, the units organized the payment of compensation and support to 44 households who allocated more than 33 hectares of land to the Son My 1 Industrial Park project with a total payment of nearly 64 billion VND.
This is an important step to remove obstacles in Son My 1 Industrial Park to deploy infrastructure construction and attract investment, develop industry and services in the coastal area of the province.
Mr. Dang Thanh Cong - Vice Chairman of Son My Commune - said that households coming to receive compensation were excited and agreed with the policy. The locality arranged forces to support people while waiting for payment.
According to the Lam Dong Provincial Industrial Park Management Board, Son My 1 Industrial Park was approved by the Prime Minister in 2017, with a total registered capital of VND 2,300 billion and an area of 1,070 hectares.
Phase 1 is expected to be implemented on an area of over 615 hectares and phase 2 is nearly 455 hectares. In the priority area for investment in the construction of 375 hectares alone, up to now, 87 hectares have been completed. The remaining problem is an area of over 288 hectares involving 78 households and 7 organizations. The units have approved compensation plans for 65 households with 45 hectares with a budget of more than 81 billion VND.
Regarding the construction of the resettlement area, the Son My 1 Resettlement Area Technical Infrastructure Project (phase 1) was approved on an area of 1.44 hectares, expected to arrange 76 resettlement lots for affected households in the Son My 1 Industrial Park project. The local government has approved a compensation, support and resettlement plan for 7 affected households.
To speed up the progress of infrastructure construction and put into operation, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has directed the Branch of the Land Fund Development Center No. 1 to coordinate with the People's Committee of Son My Commune, the investor, and relevant departments and branches to speed up the progress of compensation and site clearance for the Son My 1 Industrial Park project, especially the priority area (375ha) to carry out site clearance first.
The Provincial People's Committee requires that by November 30, 2025, units must complete compensation, site clearance and compensation payments for 75 households in the project. For the remaining 3 households, continue to review the legality and complete the compensation and clearance plan according to regulations.
Son My 1 Industrial Park plays an important role in the industrial development of coastal areas in Lam Dong province. Although under construction, Son My 1 Industrial Park has attracted 3 investment projects with a scale of 156 hectares, with a registered investment capital of 5.4 billion USD, including: Son My LNG Port warehouse, Son My I BOT Thermal Power Plant, Son My II Thermal Power Plant.
