On September 27, Mr. Nguyen Le Thanh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Son My commune, Lam Dong province - said that from September 30 to October 1, the locality and the branch of the No. 1 Land Fund Development Center will organize the payment of compensation and support for households allocating land to the Son My 1 Industrial Park (IP) project.
According to the Management Board of Lam Dong Industrial Parks, at Son My 1 Industrial Park, the total area needed for site clearance is more than 1,070 hectares.
Of which, the priority area is 375 hectares but so far only nearly 86.8 hectares have been completed. The biggest problem lies in an area of over 288 hectares involving 69 households and 7 organizations.

7 organizations whose land was recovered have filed a lawsuit against the government, Lam Dong Provincial People's Court has accepted and is collecting documents to resolve the case. In addition, 78 households with an area of over 45.3 hectares have decided to compensate over VND81 billion.
The resettlement area of Son My 1 Industrial Park project has a scale of more than 14.4 hectares, and has approved compensation prices but cannot be implemented yet because there are not enough land and funding to hand over. There are currently 3 households that have not handed over their land.
The two BOT gas projects Son My 1 and Son My 2 (located in Son My 1 Industrial Park) have not yet had their feasibility reports approved, causing the implementation progress to be even slower.
According to the Management Board of Lam Dong Industrial Parks, the problems have not been resolved such as: many households and organizations have not agreed with the extended compensation and complaint prices; the accompanying technical infrastructure is not yet complete.
Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai requested relevant agencies and units to urgently pay and compensate people to have land to implement the project. Accordingly, 65 households whose compensation plans have been approved must be paid before October 15. The remaining households must complete compensation and payment before November 30.
In addition, Mr. Hai requested the Department of Finance to issue detailed instructions to units for implementation in September.
Removing obstacles in Son My 1 Industrial Park is not only meaningful for the project but also determines the attraction of investment, industrial and service development in the South Central region in the coming time.
