The Prime Minister approved the Son My 1 Industrial Park (IP) project with a scale of 1,070 hectares in Ham Tan district, Binh Thuan province.
Carrying out investment procedures, up to now, the investor of Son My 1 Industrial Park (IPICO) has completed the Project Construction Investment Feasibility Study Report; Environmental Impact Assessment Report. After being allocated land for the first time by the Provincial People's Committee with an area of 76.78 hectares, the investor has completed construction licensing procedures and organized the groundbreaking ceremony on August 30, 2022.
Regarding compensation for site clearance, the locality has completed the approval of land prices for compensation for site clearance of Son My 1 Industrial Park (priority area 375.57 ha), Son My Industrial Park resettlement area phase 1. However, land recovery still has many problems related to compensation for 7 economic organizations, relocation of religious organizations in the project area, etc.
For the area of 608.21ha/1,070ha of the industrial park, the People's Committee of Ham Tan district has issued a notice of land reclamation for 57 households, individuals and 1 organization. Up to now, the District Land Fund Development Center has implemented an inventory of 44 households and 1 organization, and has converted 10 households to legal status.
According to Mr. Do Huu Huy - Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches, localities and investors have made efforts in the project implementation process, so far the progress and implementation results of Son My 1 Industrial Park project have made progress. However, the project implementation progress is still very slow.
Mr. Huy requested the People's Committee of Ham Tan district to focus on disseminating to the people about the importance of the project to the socio-economic development of the province, creating livelihoods and jobs for the people.
For households and economic organizations that have calculated the compensation and support contents correctly and fully according to the law, they should urgently mobilize to comply with the compensation and support decision of the state. In case of disagreement, review the procedures, develop a plan, and organize enforcement according to the law.
Ham Tan District People's Committee must also focus on completing compensation and site clearance for the Son My Industrial Park resettlement area phase 1, urgently directing the completion of related procedures for the water supply pipeline for Son My Industrial Park to organize bidding to select investors to implement the project according to regulations.
For investors, it is necessary to prepare funding, coordinate with localities to speed up compensation and site clearance, especially for 7 organizations in the project area.
Son My 1 Industrial Park project is very important for the socio-economic development of Binh Thuan province. Accelerating the progress of the Son My 1 Industrial Park project also ensures land funds for investors to implement the Son My 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant and Son My 2 Thermal Power Plant, Son My LNG Port warehouse according to the set schedule.
